Abstract

The analysis of the experience of the use of the B. bassiana like entomopathogenic fungus, able to infest the ticks and their control, was carried out in the Typical Dairy 4 and their center of breeding of the Genetic Farm "El Abra", genofond of the race Holstein in Cuba, from May 19 up to September 1 of the year 2025. The used strain was LBI 1234 with a concentration of 4,7 x 108 viable conidias. The used doses were of 3,48 x 107 and 6,96 x 107, for 80 g and 160 g for liter of water, respectively. Two groups of animals were formed, selected at random, for the suitable doses with 10 calves and 15 cows. The IIP (Index infestation for ticks) every week was made before the bathroom, previous count of the ticks. One kept in mind not to take a bath, when this it was below 10. The used doses of entomopathogenic fungus of B. Bassiana didn't present remarkable differences, with similar results of efficiency that are able to reduce the IIP below 10 three weeks after the bath. An increase of the hemoglobin content is achieved in blood in all the animals at the end of the rehearsals. The proposal of the use of the product to the dose 3,48 x 107 are viable and from the economic point of view with relationship to the fipronil chemical acaricide.
