Abstract

Abstract

With the aim of comparing the yields of house fly larvae in several crops, a randomized block experimental design was assembled in the substrates: A – wheat bran, B – wheat brand 50% and swine feces 50%, C – swine feces, D - wheat bran 50% and hens feces and E – hens feces. The temperature in the substrates was between the 22.54 and 36.42 oC, always above the environmental temperature in the fly house, and the relative humidity was between 44 and 68%. The amount of water used for square meter was 32.91, 32.35, 35.46, 30.29 and 32.19 L for treatments A, B, C, D and E, respectively. The highest yield of larvae of flies was obtained in the first six days for treatment B with 2869.11 g m 2-1 and 140.85 g kg 2-1. For all the treatments, the highest quantity of larvae was obtained in the first crop. The transformation of the crude protein of the substrates for the larvae of flies was between 28.0 and 41.0%, with the highest value for treatment B. No presence of pathogenic agents was observed: Salmonella spp., Escherichia coli, and Coccidia in the treatments.
