Impact of the default on pension payments to retirees in rural communities

Authors

Abstract

In the realm of social security, pension payments to retirees are essential to ensuring a dignified standard of living. This is especially significant in rural communities due to limitations in basic services. Managing these payments at the municipal level requires efficient and transparent processes to ensure timely disbursement of benefits to retirees. Research conducted in the Ecuadorian municipality of Riobamba highlighted deficiencies in the effectiveness and equity of social security payments in these communities. Clear and updated regulations related to these processes are crucial to guarantee the rights of this vulnerable segment of the Ecuadorian population. Careful planning and constant supervision of the financial and administrative management of social security funds are fundamental. It is essential to ensure that all retired workers, regardless of gender, ethnicity, geographic location, or socioeconomic status, receive fair and adequate pensions. These elements were analyzed in the research from a qualitative and quantitative approach. The study employed analytical, synthetic, inductive, deductive, and historical-logical methods, demonstrating the need to develop public policies that strengthen social security and guarantee the rights of retirees in agricultural communities.
