ABSTRACT

The Circular Economy (CE) is presented as an innovative and effective alternative for sustainable local development by promoting the optimization of resources, the closure of production cycles and the responsible management of waste. Hence the importance for an agricultural unit due to its broad implications in terms of sustainability, efficiency and resilience. The study presented presents, under a descriptive approach, the generalities of the CE model, as an alternative for local development from the use of residuals. This study focuses on the necessary link between CE, investments and waste project management. In this sense, a characterization of the Agricultural State Base Unit (UEB) of the Cienfuegos Workers Services Company was carried out. The arguments They support CE as a starting point for circular practices to promote sustainable waste management and generate momentum for investments in projects that favor the transition towards sustainable and conscious management of resources and waste minimization in closed systems. The CE model for the use of residuals was characterized in the UEB Agropecuaria, Workers Services Company of Cienfuegos.
