Preferencias florales por abejas europeas y meliponas en diferentes variedades de calabaza (cucurbita moschata l)

Resumen

El objetivo de la investigación fue mediante un diseño experimental completamente aleatorizado determinar la variedad de Cucurbita moschata L. preferida por las abejas durante el proceso de polinización. Se realizaron cinco muestreos matutinos desde 3 de octubre al 15 de noviembre del 2019. Durante toda la investigación se observaron abejas dentro del campo. Hubo correlación entre la cantidad total de abejas observadas por variedad y los rendimientos, demostrando la importancia de la polinización entomófila. No hubo correlación entre la presencia de Abejas europeas y los rendimientos por variedad, lo contrario ocurrió con las Meliponas, lo que demuestra la eficiencia de estas últimas como agentes polinizadores.

ABSTRACT

The objective of the investigation was through a completely randomized experimental design to determine the variety of Cucurbita moschata L. preferred by bees during the pollination process. Five morning samples were taken from October 3 to November 15, 2019. In each sampling two separate observations were made in time. Open flowers were recorded in each variety, the type of bee present and its quantity. Bees were observed throughout the field during the entire investigation. There was a correlation between the total number of bees observed by variety and yields, demonstrating the importance of entomophilic pollination. There was no correlation between the presence of European bees and variety yields, the opposite occurred with the Meliponas, which demonstrates the efficiency of the latter as pollinating agents.
