Caracterización de la flora de un sector del bosque de galería del río Yara

Resumen

El trabajo se realizó con el objetivo de caracterizar la vegetación de un sector del bosque protector de agua y suelo del río Yara, Municipio Bartolomé Masó, Provincia Granma. Se realizó un inventario florístico donde se levantaron 12 transectos de 100 m² (5 m x 20m) con un área total de 1 200 m2 (0,12 ha), distribuidas sistemáticamente en ambos lados del río. Se identificaron todas las especies que presentaban diámetro mayor de 7 cm de d1.30 m. midiéndose su diámetro y altura, y contándose por estratos el número de individuos por especie, se determinó la estructura vertical, y horizontal del bosque, así como el Índice de Valor de Importancia Ecológico. En la totalidad del patrimonio muestreado se registraron 557 individuos de 52 especies y 47 géneros pertenecientes a 33 familias botánicas. Las familias de mayor riqueza de especie en el área estudiada fueron Leguminosae, Rutaceae, Euphorbiaceae, Sapindaceae, Salicaceae, Sapotaceae y Boraginaceae. Las especies arbóreas mejor representadas en el fragmento de bosque y mayor Índice de Valor de Importancia fueron Guasuma Tomentosa, Roystonea regia, Sterculia apetala y Cedrela odorata.

ABSTRACT

The work was carried out with the objective of characterizing the vegetation of a sector of the water and soil protective forest of Yara River, Bartolomé Masó Municipality, Granma Province. A floristic inventory was carried out where 12 transects of 100 m² (5 m x 20 m) were erected with a total area of 1 200 m2 (0,12 ha), systematically distributed on both sides of the river. All species with a diameter greater than 7 cm in d1.30 m were identified. Measuring its diameter and height, and counting by strata the number of individuals per species, the vertical, horizontal structure of the forest was determined, as well as the Value Index of Ecological Importance. In the totality of the sampled patrimony, 557 individuals of 52 species and 47 genera belonging to 33 botanical families were registered. The families of greatest species, richness in the studied area, were Leguminosae, Rutaceae, Euphorbiaceae, Sapindaceae, Salicaceae, Sapotaceae and Boraginaceae. The tree species best represented in the forest fragment and the highest Value Index of Importance were Guasuma Tomentosa, Roystonea regia, Sterculia apetala and Cedrela odorata.
