Mejora del agroecosistema ambiental en la finca La Granjita: una contribución a la sostenibilidad agrícola

Resumen

Las prácticas agroecológicas permiten manejar de manera sostenible los recursos naturales y contribuyen a la resiliencia de los agroecosistemas. La investigación tuvo como objetivo desarrollar un manejo del agroecosistema agrícola que propicie la mejora de las dimensión ambiental en áreas de la Finca La Granjita en la Isla de la Juventud. El diseño del estudio es mixto con tendencia hacia la investigación cuantitativa, de tipo analítico y descriptivo. La metodología en estudio se fundamenta en los principios de la investigación-acción-participativa; en el primer paso la caracterización del contexto agroecológico, el segundo paso evaluación del comportamiento del agroecosistema ambiental de la finca y tercero las prácticas agroecológicas seleccionadas. La propuesta constituye una herramienta que fue puesta en manos de los productores, con la cual se propicia el manejo de los agroecosistemas sobre la base de una concepción sostenible, para lo cual se contó con un volumen informativo fácilmente accesible, que permite la valoración y elección de alternativas favorables para el manejo de los componentes agrícolas en las fincas, con beneficios en el agroecosistema ambiental.

ABSTRACT

Agroecological practices allow the sustainable management of natural resources and contribute to the resilience of agroecosystems. The objective of the research was to develop a management of the agricultural agroecosystem that promotes the improvement of the environmental dimension in areas of La Granjita farm, Isla de la Juventud. The study design is mixed with a tendency towards quantitative, analytical and descriptive research. The methodology under study is based on the principles of participatory-action-research; in the first step, the characterization of the agroecological context, the second step, the evaluation of the behavior of the environmental agroecosystem of the farm, and the third, the selected agroecological practices. The proposal constitutes a tool that was placed in the hands of the producers, with which the management of agroecosystems is promoted on the basis of a sustainable conception, for which there was an easily accessible informative volume, which allows the assessment and choice of favorable alternatives for the management of agricultural components on farms, with benefits in the environmental agroecosystem.
