En contexto del rendimiento el mulch negro fue el que mostró mejores resultados con un rendimiento de 60,07 (t ha-1).Palabra clave:Mulch, microclima, rendimiento, temperatura, suelo.ABSTRACTMulching is a very old practice that has been used to improve soil and crop quality. The different colors of mulch offer advantages in crop development and increase plant yields in contrast to those grown without mulch. Therefore, the objective of this research was to evaluate the yield of cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) under plastic mulch conditions in Ecuador. A completely randomized design was used, with five treatments: control (T0), red (T1), blue (T2), black (T3) and green (T4) with three replications, using the Duncan statistical test with significance level (p<0.05). The use of colored mulch in the soil was shown to increase the temperature in the first layers (0 and 10 cm) and to improve the vegetative and productive development of the crop compared to the control treatment, with better results in parameters such as stem diameter (13.80 mm), weight (363.81 g), diameter (56.29 mm), length (23.99 cm), number of fruit (8.27) and plant biomass (149.61 g). In the context of yield, the black mulch showed the best results with a yield of 60.07 (t ha-1).Keywords:Mulch, microclimate, yield, temperature, soil. ER -
