ABSTRACTThe objective of this scientific report was to predict Ecuador's shrimp exports for the year 2020 based on the historical information obtained. Through the application of the Arima model, a comparative analysis was carried out with the predicted data against the data registered in the National Chamber of Aquaculture, to determine the impact that Covid-19 has had on the shrimp sector. As a methodology, the hypothetical-deductive method was applied because the variables were observed over time, posing the hypothesis that, if Covid-19 had an impact on shrimp exports. The variables observed were pounds exported, income in dollars per pounds exported, and average price per pound. In addition, this research had a quantitative approach with an exploratory, explanatory and historical type of research because the subject analyzed is new and little treated, but there is information on the variables over time. The results obtained using the Arima method showed that shrimp exports have an increasing trend and when compared with the real data it was verified that the Covid-19 pandemic did not generate a significant impact.
